Finding this vintage Jim Morrison treasure just made me giddy!! This is an original, one-of-a-kind, Jim Morrison An American Prayer "Spoken Word" vinyl record album up-cycled wall clock, released in 1978. Sadly the vinyl record was not inside. However, the booklet with Jim's poems, lyrics and stories was still in tact and I was able to salvage that. As a result, when you purchase this amazing clock, you will receive the booklet too! An American Prayer is the ninth and final studio album by the American rock band the Doors. Following the death of Jim Morrison and the band's breakup, the surviving members of the Doors reconvened to set several of Morrison's spoken word recordings to music. It was the only album by the Doors to be nominated for a Grammy Award in the "Spoken Word" category.

Keyboardist Ray Manzarek perceived An American Prayer as being divided into five parts, with the first covering Morrison's childhood, the second covering his high school years, the third concerning "the young poet, stoned on a rooftop with acid dreams", the fourth covering his musical career and finally the fifth being a "final summation in a way, of the man's entire life and his philosophy."

You can see from the photos that this album got a lot of "love" and use over the years. While I focus on keeping each album's original authenticity at the forefront, I also use my creative license to "doctor" areas that may need attention. I've added the vertical red striping to distract from some of the cover's discolorations.
